This year’s festival will feature an exciting lineup of special highlights designed to educate, inspire, and celebrate Black excellence. Guests can explore The Brooklyn Neighborhood Showcase, honoring the legacy of one of Charlotte’s most historic African American communities, and experience The Black Wall Street Exhibits, showcasing the power of economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. The Black Knowledge Initiative Book Give-A-Way will provide valuable resources to promote literacy and education for all ages.
Attendees will also enjoy The Motherland Exhibit and The Out of Africa Fashion Show, celebrating African heritage, culture, and style through powerful visual storytelling. History will come to life through The Underground Railroad Exhibit and The Black History Walk of Fame, offering immersive experiences that honor the journey, resilience, and achievements of African Americans throughout history.
The festival will also host The Ashanti Queens Crowning, a beautiful cultural celebration of leadership and legacy, along with The Charlotte Natives Reunion, bringing together generations of community members. The Grier Heights Exhibit will further highlight one of Charlotte’s historic neighborhoods and its cultural significance.
The Charlotte African American Festival is more than an event—it is a movement that celebrates unity, heritage, and progress. Families, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and visitors from across the region are invited to come out and be part of this unforgettable experience.
